Jinwa Aquatics: Brushless Motor & Variable-Speed Pump Technology

Shenzhen Jinwa Aquatics Products Co., Ltd. (Jinwa Aquatics) is a specialized manufacturer of brushless motor variable-speed pumps in China, serving the aquarium, pond, water feature, and fountain markets.

Since 2009, our team has been dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of variable-speed pumps, with expertise in brushless motor technology, pump hydraulics, electronic control systems, and pump manufacturing.

Jinwa Aquatics develops variable-speed pump solutions for freshwater aquariums, marine aquariums, ponds, water features, and fountains, with a focus on efficient water circulation, adjustable flow, low-noise operation, and reliable long-term performance.

1. Core Technologies

1.1 Brushless Motor Drive Technology

Jinwa Aquatics uses three-phase sinusoidal brushless motor drive technology in selected variable-speed pump platforms, providing a different drive architecture from conventional square-wave systems.

Key advantages include:

  • Low electromagnetic interference (EMI)

  • Low operating noise, with selected premium aquarium models achieving noise levels as low as approximately 30 dB under specified test conditions

  • Variable-speed control for precise flow adjustment

  • Support for multiple control methods, including 0–5 V control, PWM control, remote control, and touchscreen interfaces, depending on the pump model and controller configuration

This motor-control architecture enables precise pump speed regulation and helps optimize water flow and energy consumption for different aquarium and pond applications.

1.2 Magnetic Isolation and Water-Electric Separation

Our pump architecture uses a magnetically coupled, isolated structure to separate the motor drive system from the pumped water.

The design eliminates the need for a conventional mechanical shaft seal within the wet section, reducing potential leakage risks associated with mechanical shaft seals.

Selected pump platforms use ceramic shafts and carbon-fiber/graphite bushings, providing wear resistance and corrosion resistance for both freshwater and marine aquarium applications.

Selected platforms are designed for a nominal continuous service life of 20,000 hours or more, subject to operating conditions, maintenance, and product specifications.

1.3 IP68 Sealed Electronic Control System

For selected variable-speed pump platforms, the electronic control board is fully encapsulated using epoxy resin potting and designed to achieve an IP68-rated sealed structure.

The system is designed for a wide operating temperature range of approximately -30°C to 100°C, depending on the specific electronic components and product configuration.

Hardware-level protection functions may include:

  • Dry-run / water-shortage protection

  • Rotor blockage protection

  • Reverse-polarity protection

  • Overload protection

Protection parameters can also be configured through software on applicable pump platforms.

1.4 Wide Power and Flow Range

Jinwa Aquatics develops variable-speed pump platforms covering a wide range of applications, from compact aquarium pumps to higher-power pond and water-feature pumps.

Our product development range extends to approximately 500 W, with selected pump platforms reaching up to approximately 75,000 L/H (19,813 GPH).

Compared with conventional fixed-speed AC pumps, variable-speed pump systems can significantly reduce energy consumption when operating at optimized flow rates. Depending on the pump model, operating point, and application conditions, energy savings can reach up to approximately 70%.

Actual energy savings depend on operating conditions, system resistance, flow requirements, and pump selection.
